Manual Pasta Machines

Often the first and best choice of pasta machines begins with manual pasta makers. There are those among us who may still believe that purchasing a manual pasta maker is the safest choice. There will be no motor to break. Of course, for those of us who own a manual type we also know that making pasta takes longer and requires more work.

I will be among those who believe is starting out with a manual pasta machine. Many of these, including the ever popular Imperia SP 150 pasta maker, can be upgraded to motorized if desired. Purchasing the motor separately gives great flexibility. The machine can be used either as a hand operated machine or the motor can be attached to create an electric machine.

All the machines we have selected for our best buys have been or are being used by our collection of cooks. Each of the pasta machines has advantages and some have disadvantages. When making a purchase one should consider how much pasta will be made at one time, the frequency of use, and the cost vs. quality.

The Atlas brand has gained in popularity while many of us stand by our Imperia selection. Regardless of the machine to be purchased, our firm suggestion is to always buy quality and to purchase the best pasta machine that will fit the budget.
